In contemporary culture, winning is very important. Whether a prize is obtained by competition or in a random drawing, people get excited by winning a prize. People want to be first in line, first to own the new product or the new fashion. 

• Why did Jesus say that if I want to be first, I must be last?
• In Jesus’ mind, what does it mean to be first, anyway?
• Does Jesus want me to keep putting other people ahead of me all the time? How do I ever accomplish anything?
• If I am servant of all, then when do I get to eat? What will be left for me? Will anyone ever serve me?
