Prayer Guide for week of 11/11/16

  • May God bring his perfect will to pass in the outcome of the election on Tuesday. May all Americans seek God’s will as they vote and accept the outcome as God’s work. We know that God cannot be defeated, even though people choose to disobey him. In everything give thanks, for God is still on his throne.
  • May every citizen take comfort in the peaceful process of transferring power in this nation. Even when we are uncomfortable with the winners of our elections, we can be encouraged by more than 200 years of history to remember that our people settle our electoral differences peacefully. Give thanks to God, for he reigns forever.
  • May each child of God turn to God for guidance before and after this election. Each of us has a role to play in the peaceful atmosphere of our country. May God’s obedient servants eschew both language and behavior that is not faithful testimony to God’s love and grace toward us as individuals and a nation.
  • Every day is a day to give thanks for the men and women who serve in our armed forces and commit to sacrifice themselves for the good of our nation. Any day is a good day to thank those who have served. Especially on Friday, Veterans’ Day, may we thank God for those who serve our nation in the military forces. May each citizen go out of his way to express that thanks to military people of all ages who have earned our respect and gratitude. May God preserve us in safety and security according his mighty power for good.

With the Holy Spirit as the wind in your sails, you may look tilted to contemporary culture.
