A Hymn for Meditation

My God how wonderful thou art

 My God how wonderful thou art,
Thy majesty how bright.
How beautiful thy mercy seat
In depths of burning light.

How wonderful, how beautiful
The sight of thee must be
Thine endless wisdom, boundless power
And awesome purity!

Yet I may love the too, O Lord,
Almighty as thou art,
For thou hast stooped to ask of me
The love of my poor heart.

My God, how wonderful thou art,
Thou everlasting friend!
On thee I stay my trusting heart
Till faith in vision end.

 Unresting, unhasting,
And silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting,
Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains
High soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains
Of goodness and love. 

Thou reignest in glory;
Thou dwellest in light.
Thine angels adore thee,
All veiling their sight;
All laud we would render;
Oh, help us to see
‘Tis only the splendor
Of light hideth thee!
