In a book that will take you less than an hour to read, Andy Andrews asks and answers a riveting question. If you think you know the answer, think again. Take a look at the subtitle of the book: Why the truth matters more than you think. The key to the death of all those people lay in a skillfully crafted lie and people more willing to believe the lie than act on the truth. This book asks what shapes the agenda of a nation. It asks how a very few people can subjugate very many free people without laying a hand on them. It asks how people can be induced to imprison and oppress themselves. It asks how people can be led to give up their God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The answer lies in the subtitle: the truth matters more than you think.
The first half of the book looks backward at a historical event you may think you know well. Go ahead and read the book. This author’s perspective sets 11 million deaths up for close and uncomfortable examination. Then, lest you shrug your shoulders and say that such an atrocity in the past in a foreign country has nothing to do with you, Andy Andrews drags that vile truth home to the USA and asks how 100 million people let themselves be railroaded into believing the lie that their votes do not matter. 100 million people might as well be dead, for all the impact their views have on the outcome of elections in the USA. They do not vote, because they believe the lie that it doesn’t matter that they do not vote.
Do you believe that lie? Do you believe that your vote does not matter? Do you think that if you don’t like any of the options very well, then it does not matter whether you vote at all? Read Andy Andrews’ book. If you finish this book and still believe that your vote does not matter, please write to me and help me understand your viewpoint. Better yet, just leave a comment below and I will gladly read your point of view.

I received a copy of this book free from Michael Hyatt as a gift for commenting on his blog. I was asked to tweet a link to the Amazon site where people could purchase the book. I was not asked to review or to recommend the book. This review is my opinion after reading the book.
